Smoking marijuana and great music often go hand in hand, but believe it or not, there are some tracks that are better than others depending on the kind of cannabis vibe you’re going for.

Whether you’re looking for a great playlist about smoking weed or songs that complement your experience, there is plenty of music to soothe any weed smoker’s appetite. We’ve put together a sample of our marijuana-toking playlist.

Our Favorite Songs about Weed – Create Your Weed Playlist

Afroman ‘Because I Got High’

A true classic when it comes to tunes about smoking weed. ‘Because I Got High’ was originally recorded in 2000 and released in 2001. The song itself actually details how smoking weed affects Afroman’s life in a negative way. Though the undertones seem dark, the light-hearted feel and catchy beats make this a marijuana smoker’s staple. Jay and Silent Bob’s feature in the video also helped the song appeal to cannabis-smokers and non-smokers alike.

Sublime “Smoke Two Joints”

Though originally recorded in a reggae style by the Toyes, it was Sublime that took this song to its ultimate popularity in the cannabis space. ‘Smoke Two Joints’ was covered by Sublime in 1992 as part of their 40oz to Freedom album and was actually one of the first songs they recorded to be featured on the radio. Any cannabis lover is familiar with the popular cover.

Dr. Dre feat Snoop Dogg ‘The Next Episode’

One of our absolute favorites, ‘The Next Episode’ brings together some of the music industry’s most talented artists in one of the most popular songs of the 2000s…not to mention a weed smoker’s anthem. The song’s epic line by Nate Dogg ‘smoke weed every day’ makes it memorable and provides a catchy line that everyone naturally sings along to. Whether you’re smoking Indica to relax or Sativa for more energy, you can’t go wrong with ‘The Next Episode.’ It’s great with weed and music.

Bob Marley ‘Kaya’

‘Kaya’ takes weed smokers to a new place full of love and marijuana. Unlike most of Bob Marley’s militant tracks, ‘Kaya’ is smooth, soft and offers a relaxing cannabis vibe. Originally released as part of the Kaya album in 1978, the namesake song is a perfect addition to a smoke session.

Pink Floyd ‘Comfortably Numb’

Whether you’re smoking or not, ‘Comfortably Numb’ has a way of taking listeners to a different place outside of the regular world. This is one of Pink Floyd’s most popular songs and was even featured on Rolling Stone’s Top 500 Songs of All Times. Check out some of The Spot 420’s newest strains and turn this on repeat. You’re in for a powerful marijuana high.

The Psycho Realm ‘Poison Rituals (Pow Wow)’ – Favorite Weed and Music!

One of our favorite lesser known tracks is by The Psycho Realm. ‘Pow Wow’ is about getting your friends together, smoking, getting high and the effects of marijuana on your mind and body, and ultimately having a great time. The mysterious intro and captivating beats keep you intrigued and keep your high going strong.

Cypress Hill ‘Roll It Up, Light It Up, Smoke It Up’

You really can’t go wrong with anything featured on the movie Friday. Almost any Cypress Hill song is a compliment to your stoner playlist. Every lyric speaks to the marijuana smoker in all of us. If you want to keep things easy, go through any Cypress Hill album end to end and you won’t be disappointed.
